Dear General Truesdell:

Hardly have I succeeded in establishing the "liaison" with you at the head of the First Division, than I read of your new appointment as head of the Sixth Army Corps:

I do want to be among the first to congratulate you upon this promotion - though I am sorry to hear that it will take you away from New York.

With my best wishes for continued success and personal regards,

Yours very sincerely,

(Germain Séligmann)

General Karl Truesdell,
Commander, Sixth Army Corps,
Providence, R.I.
