June 20th, 1941 United States Customs Service District 10 Port of New York Gentlemen: Herewith please find Declaration for the Free Entry of Articles taken out of the United States by the Importer, duly signed by me. However, I wish to point out that as the items were packed in Paris by third parties, and this since the occupation of that city by the Germans, I am actually incapable of stating exactly what is in these trunks until they have been opened. Nevertheless, they definitely are all personal or household effects which were stored in my brother's apartment in Paris and which I used during my short stays abroad, the majority of them having, of course, been in this country before. I also wish to state that I became a permanent resident of this country in March 1937. Yours very truly, (Germain Seligmann)
