Dear Miss Seligmann:

Re: SHIPMENTS OF PHOTOGRAPHS FROM EUROPE.

After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that you should establish your own "navicert" which will be attached to Mr. Seligmann's. This document (I have the blanks here) is to be made out in triplicate and signed by you before the English Consular authorities at 25 Broadway, New York City. However, there is no great rush about this as Mr. Seligmann did not find time to attend to his own before his departure.

As far as the insurance is concerned, I am sorry to report that I did not have much luck. Lloyd's inform me that they can no longer cover such risks. United States underwriters, of whom I contacted six, will insure at an approximate rate of 1%, but only against total loss -- in other words, should part of the shipment be stolen or damaged, no claim could be made.

Will you be good enough to advise me what I shall do about insurance.
