Is there anything at all I can do to help in anyway at all?  Have you books to read and everything you want - I can do so little but that little will be very gladly done if it can help at all.  

I do know what you are going through but thank heavens the appendix has [[word obscured]] a rapidly healing thing & I think one's better without it - you'11 probably feel grand in a few weeks - anyway that is the sincere wish of your old friend
