The rest of the output, which is expected to be around 50,000 barrels a day, will be sold to the highest qualified bidder for preparation for war use.

In view of the need for the oil it is expected that drilling operations will be completed quickly. At present the railroads are attempting to move 100,000 barrels daily of oil products to the Pacific Coast from Texas and the Chicago area. With the Western railroads already having difficulty in moving a heavy war traffic for the Pacific area, a further increase in the tempo of operation in the war against Japan might result in overburdening them, particularly
