November 21, 1945

Gentlemen:

In August 1941 I sent various food packages to relatives in France through the Agence Commerciale Francaise, Lisbon, Portugal, who now advise me that I still owe them the sum of escudos, 28.55, representing shipping expenses.

Would you kindly inform me whether I am permitted to make remittance of this sum either by draft in escudos or by check for the dollar equivalent (approximately $1.20) without a license, in view of the small amount.

With anticipated thanks,

Very truly yours,

(Germain Seligman)
