Dear Mr. Seligman:

We take pleasure in enclosing credit note for our sale of the painting by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo "Martyrdom of St. Sebastian", which is your property and which you had left with us on consignment, showing, after deduction of our selling commission of 10% as agreed, the sum of $9,450.- (Nine thousand fourhundred fifty 00/100 dollars) in your favor.

As the purchaser of this painting paid us the sum of $5,000.- (Five thousand 00/100 dollars) on account, we are appending our check on J.P.Morgan & Co., Inc. for $3,950.- (Three thousand nine hundred fifty 00/100 dollars), deducting in full our selling commission of $1,050.- (One thousand fifty 00/100 dollars).

By reason of this remittance we still owe you the sum of $5,500.- (Five thousand five hundred 00/100 dollars), which we shall remit to you upon final settlement of this sale by our client.
