November 30, 1946

Dear Mr. Peck:

I received your letter of November 14, 1946 addressed to Mr. Germain Seligman together with statements of items owned personally by him and which were sold at auction by Maitre Rheims which as far as I can ascertain are in order.

I am pleased to read in your letter of November 18, 1946 that the refund to Mr. Germain Seligman for unused return transportation of the Pontiac should shortly be settled by the Compagnie Generale Trans-Atlantique.

I also wish to acknowledge receipt of your second letter of November 18th inclosing consular invoice for the Wimpfheimer desk shipped by S.S. Ile de France. This item is being cleared by the United States Customs and I trust will be delivered shortly to us in good order.

For future reference will you please note to always indicate on the consular invoice, as requested by the U.S. Customs, where and when the item shipped was produced - taking the Wimpfheimer desk as an example, you would state "Louis XV desk, French work of the 18th century". Whenever possible, such consular invoice should also indicate when and from whom the item was purchased.

Yours very truly,

(O. A. Liechti)
