Dear Mr. Visson:

Instead of just thanking you for your very nice thought in sending me an invitation to the gala preview of the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition, you find me wondering whether I could take advantage of your kindness and ask for another one!

It just so happens that we are dining with a couple who would like to accompany us to your opening, and I told them I would try to obtain a card - though they realize of course, that your efforts in organizing this exhibition had a philanthropic purpose.

Whatever your answer may be, I wish to renew my thanks to you.

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
