July 31, 1946

Dear Mr. Seligman:

Funds - Please find enclosed detailed statement with respect to transfer of additional funds from the special reserve Robbins at Morgan & Company to the two-signature cash account at the Fifth Avenue Bank. You will notice that I had to transfer for July and August the sum of $455.-.

Warehouse - We removed the paintings indicated on the appended list to our vault.

Stock - Taggart Corporation - You will remember that you placed a selling order with Baker, Weeks, & Harden for 500 shares of this stock at 12-1/2; today's quotation - 10-1/4.

I turned over the stock certificates together with the stock transfer duly signed by you to Mr. Robbins in a self-addressed envelope (sealed in his presence) with the instructions to forward it to Baker, Weeks & Harden by registered mail at their request. I also informed Mr. Edgar and his secretary Mrs. Couch to communicate with Mr. Robbins should they sell these securities some time during August at the agreed quotation, instructing them at the same time to deposit the selling proceeds immediately with Morgan & Company to the credit of your personal account.

Mr. Galton - I turned over to him for safe keeping during August the two envelopes containing one thousand dollars each in cash, being the firm's cash reserve.

Mail - Instructed the post office to deliver all mail addressed to the galleries and to your apartment directly to Mr. Robbins until after Labor day; ditto - the telegraph and cable companies.

Mr. Robbins - As agreed with you prior to your departure, I gave Mr. Robbins the following instructions: Should the Chicago Art Institute write us that they are returning the marble statue, he should notify them to kindly defer this shipment until the beginning of September as our galleries are closed for entire month of August: ditto: City Art Museum, St. Louis, with respect to the BONNARD "The Yellow Screen"; ditto: Buffalo Fine Arts Academy with respect to the COURBET "La Femme aux Fleurs".

If, however, anything should go wrong and such shipments be mad contrary to instructions, I requested the superintendent of our building to have Railway Express make deliver to Brown's Warehouse for our account.

Release assets - Nouvelle Societe - I was very happy to see that the Office Des Changes liberated these assets. I trust that by now such documents reached you in good order, together with the accompanying letter of Mr. Robbins, through Mrs. Seligmann.

Quellenec - We received the following cable from him: "Pour de hauke veuillez remettre dessin odilon redon si vous ne l'avez pas vendu a Andre Vulliet qui viendra vous voir de ma part."

You will remember the little drawing which he turned over to us through Mr. de Hauke (without your knowledge)in November 1940 at a consignment price of $40.-. No
