Dear Liechti:

American Express. Enclosed is a copy of a letter sent today to the American Express by Mrs. Seligman which you will, unfortunately, find self-explanatory. Though we haven't yet given up all hope, I am of the opinion that you advise the insurance company. Whether they will want to take the matter up directly with the American Express or whether you should take it up with them, I don't know. You might consult Mr. Galton onthe subject, as taking action against the American Express may really be quicker, as you know.

On the other hand, Mrs. Seligman has lost her silver bracelet and as it was after coming home from a day's activities in Paris that the loss was discovered, we have been unable to have a definite clue as to where it was lost. This happened three days ago. You will find the amount on the insurance list.

As regards the coat, I have no idea what the price of replacement would be. As for the cape, should I see one in Sqitzerland, I will buy it either at the cost of the American Express or the insurance company.

Stora. I received your cable this morning re contacting Mr. Pilon. Please tell Mr. Stora that I had already made an appointment with the latter.

Letter to Fifth Avenue Bank. I am returning it to you duly signed. This in answer to your letter of June 23rd.

Mrs. James C. Lewis. I am of the opinion that when this very tyrant-like lady telephones, should she do so, you answer her that you have been unable to contact me as I am just flying from one country to another and probably will be unreachable until late in July, as I much prefer the brunt of the first conversations to rest upon Mr. Robbins's shoulders. You can always dodge the issue by having to refer to me. I am not taking this matter up with Mr. Robbins, who is only here for a very few days, so that you will please take this up with him upon his return and remind me of it when I am back.

License renewal. Mr. Robbins sent you a letter yesterday asking you to make application to the Federal Reserve for renewal of the license on the blocked account, which I trust you will have received by the time this letter arrives.

With best regards,
