Dear Liechti:

Could you post haste (we are leaving here on the 3rd) find the following information which I need to settle certain matters with Mr. Fulda. I don't know how much of this you will be able to find among the papers I turned over to you a year or two ago.

A. What successive sums or total amount or stocks did I leave with the company in liquidation as special guarantees to the French fiscal authorities? This took place after the beginning of the liquidation of '35. The bulk was with the Guaranty Trust Company, others with Morhange et Cie, etc. no receive here only

B. What funds did I have at the Guaranty Trust Company in New York and/or in Paris in 1938-39 and what transfers, if any, did I make of these funds? According to my recollection, I had two accounts with them - one a guaranty account blocked for the benefit of the French treasury and a free one. It is to the latter that I refer here.

C. In 1939 at the beginning of the war - or was it in June, 1940? - I was requested by someone in France, either George or René Fulda or Francois-Gerard, to cable to the Guaranty Trust to transfer a given amount to a bank in Marseilles, these funds to become available either to Francois Gerard or George. From what account were the funds transferred? From the account of the Germain Seligmann et Cie in liquidation or from my personal one?

I do hope you can straighten these matters out, as they are quite important in view of the sums involved and it seems difficult here to find the necessary elements.

Thank you,
Bien avous-
G.
