Dear Mr. Seligman:

MORTON - I confirm our cable exchange. When I transmitted your instructions to him, he seemed rather amiable if a bit disappointed, but fairly optimistic that he could oblige us, However, when he called me back, he was definitely "running a temperature" and was quite emphatic when he said that under the circumstances he doubted very much that the cancellation could be made.

FOGG MUSEUM - Please find enclosed copy of their letter of June 16, 1947 with respect to the three paintings which we shipped to them as well as copy of my reply, which I trust you will find in order. Please note that the part about the trusteeship was ok'd by Mr. Robbins, while the paragraph about the condition of the VAN GOGH was the result of the combined efforts of Mrs. Parker and myself.

J.P. MORGAN - Confirms the special credit of $6,450.-.

A.G. BECKER - Mailed a safekeeping receipt for the 150 shares of Visking Corp. Common.

APARTMENT - In addition to the items mentioned in my letter to you of June 16th, I also removed to the galleries the two very fine Limoges candlesticks.

Will you please tell Mrs. Seligman that the cleaners removed the rugs last Monday.

I shall be back at the apartment later on this week to put away in the various closets the items which you are leaving there during the summer. The mirror and the two Diaz will be taken off the walls and put face down on the bed.

PHOTOS-THREE DRAWINGS-D - As per your instructions, I made notes of the con-dition of these three paintings on the back of their photographs and mailed them in an envelope addressed to this firm, which already arrived and which I put away unopened in the safe.

SHIPMENT-SCHIFF AND "HERCULES AND THE LION" - This case is actually at Public Stores and I expect delivery at the galleries early next week.

I also received the cover note from McKay Morant for the special policy insuring this shipment. The premium thereon amounts to only $66.15 instead of the $94.- (appr) as anticipated. Underwriters were able to effect breakage insurance at 2-1/2% instead of 3% as they previously quoted.
