Below is a copy of a letter received from Mr. Joseph Pulitzer Jr., and the reply:

"June 15, 1947
"Dear Mr. Seligman: I happened to see the two very fine figure paintings by Braque in the Dale collection at the Chicago Art Institute. They are, indeed, very fine but the one I had in mind is undoubtedly the anonymously loaned picture which was formerly hung in the Worcester Art Museum. Mrs. Pulitzer and I may be in Paris during late August or early September and would enjoy exploring the collections with you. Do let me know if you expect to be there at that time. Should you find the painting you know in Europe to be available, I would appreciate an opportunity of seeing it if that could be arranged without disturbing the price. Paragraph: Unfortunately I have lost the invoice for the de las Fresnaye drawing and enclose my check for $275. If this is not correct, please advise me. Paragraph: With best wishes for a pleasant summer, Sincerely yours, (Signed: Joseph Pulitzer, Jr.)"""""
