Memorandum to Mr. Galton - 2 - July 29, 1947
From: Mr. O. A. Liechti
Re: Mr. M. Aubry

On June 20, 1947, Mr. Germain Seligman acknowledged receipt of my cable. He does not accept the agent's explanation, as after all we have known Mr. Schempp many years and must believe him when he states that the French francs were not offerred [[offered]] to him. He instructed me, however, to inform Aubry that in the meantime the sum in question was delivered and accepted and his claim for cancellation was to be considered as nul [[null]] and void. He cannot, however, hide his disappointment as to how this matter had been handled by Aubry or rather his agent.

On receipt of this letter of June 23, 1947, I communicated Mr. Seligman's message to Mr. Aubry. He was very satisfied with the ultimate outcome, but re-iterated [[reiterated]] that his agent had contacted our man in order to make delivery on June 12th.
