Dear Mr. Seligman:

[[strikethrough]]
Upon receipt of your cable I telegraphed Nesi as follows: (July 29, 1947) WILL ACCEPT FORTYEIGHT HUNDRED NET PAYMENT WITHIN FOUR WEEKS PLEASE WIRE
[[/strikethrough]]

MANHATTAN WAREHOUSE - We deposited for temporary storage the eighteen paintings as per list established prior to your departure as well as the commode.

As per your suggestion previous to your departure, I turned over to your cousin, to be delivered to you in Paris, two stock lists of the old Society, (the first of them showing the [[strikethrough]] temporary [[/strikethrough]] inventory a few years prior to the war and the second one listing all items accounted for). As these are the only documents of this type that I have in our New York files, I would ask you to kindly bring them back with you.

STORA came in this morning to verify whether we still had the Cassone carved wood panel which we had consigned to him back in 1940, as he correctly remembered it, for $150.-. It appears that he has a foreign client (probably South American) who seems to be interested in such works of art. He conceded that it was unlikely that you would quote him the same figure today and asked me to wire you. I confirm my cable: (July 29, 1947)

CLIENT STORA INTERESTED CASSONE PANEL STOP CONSIGNED NINETEENFORTY ONEHUNDREDFIFTY DOLLARS STOP COST SIXTEENDOLLARS OUR SELLING PRICE EIGHTHUNDRED PLEASE WIRE LOWEST PRICE LIECHTI

This panel is the property of the Ancienne Société with an indicated cost of Fcs. 400 (Four hundred) and inventory "0".

Doctor Swarzenski, Sr. came in asking for you. Jack who received him, told him that you were at present in Europe and he said that he did not have anything particular in mind, but wished to be remembered to you.

AUBRY MORTON I just received your cable in this connection and shall, as requested, give Mr. Galton all the available data. I also beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter written in Basel, July 25, 1947, and have sent Dr. Fritz Nathan of St. Gallen the desired references with respect to the TOULOUSE-LAUTREC "Portrait of Francois Gauzi" as per enclosed copy.

NESI - On receipt of your cable I wired Nesi as follows: (July 28, 1947)
