October 9, 1948

Dear Mr. Seligman:

Please find enclosed herein check on the Fifth Avenue Bank of New York in the sum of $300.00 (Three hundred dollars), being in full payment of the painting by Hondecoeter "Courtyard" which you had left with us on consignment for sale, as per appended credit note.

We very much appreciate your letter of October 9, 1946, reducing your consignment price for this painting from $500.- to $300.- in view of the disappointing figure at which we were able to conclude this transaction.

Trusting you will find the above in order.

Yours very truly,

JACQUES SELIGMANN & Co., Inc.

Transcription Notes:
It's Hondecoeter. A wrinkle in the paper (copy paper not bond) smudged the name. Artists' names are always searchable. ---- The "er" in Hondecoeter is crossed out. Unsure how best to make clear in transcription. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-02-18 08:04:33 ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-02-24 14:13:40
