Dear Mr. Seligman:

A letter came yesterday from Miss Grete Ring, dated June 27th., as follows:

Dear Mr. Seligman, Thank you for your letter of June 7th. and the photograph. I am glad that you have meanwhile been able to gather such a lot of new information about your French picture. paragraph. I am afraid I do not know Monsieur Marignane's address. I have not seen him for more than ten years and I do not even know whether he is still alive, but I hope he is. His book on Nicolas Froment was published by the "Editions Albert Morance" 30 & 32 rue de Fleurus, Paris - they might know what has become of him. Otherwise he should be known to the officials of the Paris Department of Prints and Drawings at the Louvre, as he always specialized in drawings in the first place. paragraph. As to my own publication, I am now in the middle of proof reading, but it will take a long time until the book will come out, as printing and binding are a matter of considerable duration and any delay is possible. I think that I already told you that at the time when you first wrote to me my text was unfortunately already completed and the clichés are done very long ago - I will therefore to my great regret hardly be able to include the picture in my publication. I am glad to hear that you have heard such advantageous remarks about the future book, and I hope that the realization will not prove to be too much of a deception. Yours sincerely, Signed Grete Ring.

I did not answer it, but will acknowledge it if you would like me to.

Also a letter came from El Director del Museo del Prado B.L.M., text as follows: re: the painting "Magician"

al Sr. Don Germain Seligman, su distinguido amigo y lamenta en extreme no poderle dar ninguna noticia sobre lo relacionado con su atenta carta y fotografĂa que le devuelvo. End.

At the bottom of the letter is printed "Fernando Alvarez de Sotomayor aprovecha esta ocasion para ofrecer a dicho senor el testimonio de su consideracion mas distinguida". Madrid 25 de Mayo de 1948.

The photograph we sent was enclosed.

Wittenborn sent a book on Konrad Witz (Price $3.21 - three dollars and twenty-one cents), on approval. It was ordered on May 11th.,. I returned it, and we may have it back on approval after Labor Day

With best wishes,

Sincerely yours,
Eleanor Bazner
