July 7, 1948

BUSONI delivered the mat for the Fantin Latour drawing.

APARTMENT MAIL: Received the monthly statement of the Bankers Trust Company for your joint account, and a bill ([[strikethrough]] apparently [[/strikethrough]] from the Newton Pharmacy), both of which I left unopened.

SELIGMAN-PARIS: I am appending herein copy of their letter dated July 3, 1948 which at the same time returned to us the Fifth Avenue Bank's draft on Paris in the sum of $100.-. If you want to, I can buy an additional draft for the difference (30,000.- French francs, calculated at the official rate of exchange of 240.- French francs per dollar, less draft on hand for $100.-.). Please let me have your instructions.

ACCOUNTANTS: Contrary to what you had told me, Mr. Mitchell showed up this morning. He checked the cash, found a difference of two cents, and will return next Monday in order to take care of the half-yearly audit.

With best wishes for a pleasant holiday,

Sincerely yours,

(O. A. Liechti)
