My dear Mr. McGowan:

Please be informed that at the request and for the account of Mr. Germain Seligman, President of our firm, we have shipped to him in care of your hotel per S.S. "Byfjord" which left New York on June 25, 1949, two cases marked #1/2 containing personal effects, as per enclosed lists of contents.

We understand that the port of discharge is St. Thomas, and Mr. Germain Seligman would greatly appreciate your taking delivery of these two cases, to be held for his arrival on July 10, 1949, and for this purpose append Bill of Lading in triplicate.

Kindly advise us of the safe arrival of this shipment.
