Dear Germain
Dear Francois Gerard:

You must have received my wire concerning the E.P. Collection.

It is magnificent. All of the watercolors by Daumier are marvelous. Most of them are all colored. The few that are washes are of the highest quality and very strong, all with movement and magnificent atmosphere and astonishing expressions on the faces.

The paintings by Daumier are also of a magnificent quality. The biggest, a little static, but nevertheless beautiful. The paintings are much better than one could believe from the reproductions and they are all but one relatively small in size.

As I wired, the Corots are beautiful, "The Seated Woman in the Studio" is magnificent. The other figure by Corot also beautiful, but slightly less interesting. The landscapesby Corot are very good but far from thrilling.

The Delacroixs are relatively small in size because from the reproductions I had seen in Les Arts I had expected them larger. "The River Sebou" is to my feeling the best of them, but the personages are very small due to the fact that the picture is much smaller than one believes from the reproduction, perhaps 60 x 70cm.

I was finishing my telegram with "Prendrai part and good wishes". I mean that If you buy, I will be glad to take a share of that collection according to my small means and possibilities of investing.

Affectionately
G.
