My dear Germain:
Leigh Block bought since I paid him a visit in October last the VAN GOGH portrait with the cut ear, a Cezanne "Still Life" that he qualified most important and very beautiful, a Matisse oil 1948, and he gave me the feeling that this was not all.

He will be in again shortly. He is interested in Picasso, Juan Gris, in La Fresnaye watercolors, and in Seurat's mother by Seurat. I hope that he will be in again with his wife.

I write all of this to you not as gossip or simple information but because I think it should help to shape our purchasing policy, as he is only too willing to buy from me as I told you before.

He stayed one-half hour during which I showed him quite a number of things, but you realize from our stock that is was pretty difficult to show him anything of real weight and comparable to his last purchases. As a matter of face, outside of the Gris "Picasso", he had seen everything I showed him before, but did not remember it.
