Dear Mr. Seligman:

I thank you for your letter of June 9th which reached me this morning.

"PORTRAIT OF A MAN" by TITIAN - As you so clearly recall, this painting had been consigned to us from October 1944 to May 1946 at the conditions stated in the appended excerpt of a letter written to and accepted by Mr. Sachs as at December 19, 1940.

Miss Bazner has in her files a negative and one print of this picture.

I also telephoned Mr. Kopald who tells me that he has not as yet received instructions from Mr. Sachs in this respect, but as soon as they are on hand he will take the necessary steps to have the insurance company renounce recourse, as they have done in the past, against our firm.

I note to take up with you in July the removal of this painting to the warehouse and also to mail a receipt to Moses and Singer upon its arrival.

INSURANCE - I was very pleased to read about your important purchases. Please note that after the inclusion of these paintings on our floater, to which I have also added the purchase made for account of Gersel from the Galerie Louise Leiris of $2,920.-, we still have $35,000.- of insurance available on our Lloyds policy.

J.P. Morgan & CO., INC. FIRM'S ACCOUNT - I am enclosing, as requested, 6 blank checks numbered 703/708.

PAT came in this morning to tell me that she is resuming her position as of today. Mrs. Seligman, prior to her departure, told me that at the time Pat left your services, she had given her one week's extra wages, and I therefore explained to Pat that I would consider such payment as her wages for this week. She did not complain too much about this arrangement but told me that she would like to take it up with you in July.

JACK tells me that the Bonnard Landscape which we sold a few years ago to Fine Arts Associates is hanging at the Knoedler Galleries.

I am enclosing a clipping from the New York Times about the theft of two Rembrandt etchings and a Degas drawing from the Art Museum at Princeton University.

STORA & CO. - Enclosed please find sealed letter addressed to you which Mrs. Stora just brought in. She tells me it is very important.

RENOIR BRONZE - You had given me, prior to your departure, pertinent instructions about the base and where to place it, and I hope you will be able to see her in all her glory on your return.

With best wishes to you & Mrs. Seligman
Sincerely,
O.A. Liechti
