Letter No. 5 from E.B.
5 East 57th., St.
New York 22, N.Y.

May 31st., 1949

Dear Mr. Seligman:

A letter today from Mr. Robert T. Davis - The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, 1379 Sherbrooke St. West. Montreal:

"Dear Germain: You will be relieved to know that your pictures arrived safely and even the frame for the Monet had only two small flakes missing. The Monet is hung in the center of a large wall in a big gallery and looks wonderful. Curiously enough it is between two Cezannes where it holds its own very well. The Bonnard is already the darling of the artists who have seen the exhibition. It is wonderful to have had such magnificent and generous cooperation from you. Warmest greeting to you and your wife. Sincerely" Signed Bob.

Answer: Dear Mr. Davis: In the absence of Mr. Germain Seligman, who is in Europe, I have received your letter to him of May 28th., and wish to acknowledge it. I shall hold it for his return, and meanwhile send him a copy. YVS.

Enclosed also is a copy of plans being made by the Whitney Museum to build in the garden of the Museum of Modern Art.

With best wishes,

Sincerely,
Eleanor Bazner
