Letter No. 2 by E.B. 5 East 57th. St. New York 22, N.Y. May 16th., 1949 Dear Mr. Seligman: [[left margin]] ? [[/left margin]] Enclosed a letter to Mr. Sherman E. Lee of the Seattle Art Museum, by Mrs. Parker and also copy of his letter re base for Caffa bronze and two items in the Brummer sale. ? On Saturday Mrs. D. Saidenberg; Dr. Nathan from Switzerland; and Charles C. Cunningham of the Wadsworth Atheneum of Hartford came in. All were received by your cousin. Today a Mr. Goldsmith (not Jakob) came in - seen by your cousin; and also Mr. and Mrs. McKim with two other people. They are in the front room now. Also I have placed an order for "The First Quarter Century of the Pierpont Morgan Library" at $3.00 per copy. It is an illustrated catalogue; a record of a retrospective exh. of illuminated manuscripts, early books, master dwgs, etc, with descritpions, and a tribute to the Morgan Library and its First Director, Miss Belle da Costa Greene. The books sent to the binder suggested by Mrs. H.N. Straus have arrived and look very well. I've had them wrapped up to keep them fresh for you here in the office. Otherwise there is no other news from me. Mr. Liechti sends the Bellini photo you requested.
