Bazner 5 East 57th., St. New York 22, N.Y July 16th., 1948 Dear Mr. Seligman: Yesterday a letter from Miss Gertrude Townsend, Curator of Textiles, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Huntington Ave., as follows: (dated July 14th) Dear Mr. Seligman: thank you very much for the photographs of the two saints. They are indeed lovely but having been cut presumably from an orphrey they lose some at least of their significance. They are pieces which we would like to add to our study collection but I think I can say that the Trustees would not be prepared to pay any considerable price for them. V.S.Y. (Signed Gertrude Townsend) I answered as follows: Dear Miss Townsend: In Mr. Germain Seligman's absence during his vacation I am acknowledging receipt of your letter of July 14th., which I am forwarding to him by the same mail. Y.V.S. I have also made note of Miss Devigne; Brado - Sotomayor: and Miss Ring, as you mentioned in your letter to Mr. Liechti received today. On Oct. 23rd., '47 you quoted Dr. Swarzenski one thousand dollars for these two medallions. Dear Miss Bazner - Thanks for above note - please keep Miss Townsend's letter - as I shall have to answer it when I return - make a note - how - how and why on earth did you keep out the photo of the Castor et Pollux by La Fresnaye - when I was so very anxious to have photos of all those which had been AIR MAIL
