Seligmann dated May 19, 1950 Dear Georges: Pursuant to our telephone conversation, I list below the figures which were given to me in connection with the check you received in the sum of $4,880. I have been informed as follows:- (a) Of the said amount $4,480 is due you from the sale of the Mantegna Portrait, and $400 on the sale of the "Annunciation". (b) The figure of $4,480 is arrived at as follows: Selling price ........... $103,000.00 Cost price (as agreed in the contract)....... 35,000.00/68,000.00 Commitments made years ago..............23,000.00/$44,800.00 (c) Total selling price..................... $8,000.00 The 1/2 share of the Company............ 4,000.00 In view of the fact that your commission in both cases was 10%, the above figures explain the total amount of your check.
