APARTMENT: At Pat's request I went to look at the living room floor, which now has been scraped. It does look beatuful, and after a few waxings will look like new. However, Pat pointed out to me that by comparison the bedroom floor appears very dirty and drab, and she suggests that you give her authorization to also have it put in shape. Estimated cost approximately $30.00 (the work done to the vestibule and the salon cost $35.00) I really think she has a good idea.

INVESTMENT: As you probably read in the papers the ticklish situation in Korea reflected itself in the stock market last week, causing a general decline in almost all securities. However, the situation has now somewhat improved, and part of the losses have been recovered.

Mr. Dattelbaum phoned today and asked me to give you the following message; When the break in the market occured he was vacationing in Vermont, and tried to get a real rest - kept as much as possible away from the radio and newspapers. However, he say even had he been in New York he would not have done anything with respect to your investments, as it is his policy not to rush into action - to stand by and wait until the situation clarifies itself one way or another. Should conditions take a decided turn for the worse he will make certain switches. He wishes to be remembered to you and Mrs. Seligman.
