Dear Mr. Seligman:

Mrs. Parker gave me your instructions of June 25th., indicating a temporary insurance valuation of $300.00 on the miniature and also your plans for the next several weeks.

BANKERS TRUST COMPANY SPECIAL ACCOUNT:

Deposited: check:
Received from Becker & Co., in the sum of $90.00 (Ninety 00/100 dollars) representing June dividend on 200 Sharles of Sharp & Dohme (last payment $70.00)

MRS. WIMPFHEIMER: Phoned today that according to Mr. Foster (See my letter of June 28th.,) her desk is in bad shape - must have been stored in a room which was too hot etc. etc., I assured her that this was not the case (after that gentleman's visit I went myself to de Batz & Co., to verify the condition of this desk); that to my knowledge it was in the same shape as it was when delivered to us; that evidently there were the unavoidable loose and missing pieces of marquetry as has to be expected of a piece of furniture of that period which explanations seemed to satisfy her. She then asked me whether or not I thought a price of $2,500 (Two thousand five hundred dollars) was fair. Naturally I could not commit msyelf and told her in all truthfullness that not being an expert I was not qualified to make a statement in this connection, but nevertheless there was quite a discrepancy between our insurance figure of $7,000 and the price she mentioned to me. She terminated the conversation by saying that she was going to hold on to the desk hoping to get a better price at some future date. It seems to me that Mr. Foster tried to get a bargain. I have just received your letter of June 26, with all its enclosures which have my best attention.

DR. ELING: Mailed your personal check for $95.00. Asked him to receipt and return the bill to me.

INSURANCE CAGLIOSTRO: Cabled McKay Morant to insure this bust against all risk including breakage for the air transit Paris to New York for $40,000., which is the valuation you indicated to me last year. I have made a note to cable you as to is condition upon arrival, and shall bring it directly to the Manhattan Warehouse.

MAITRE PERLES: I am airmailing a photostat of the agreement today.

INSURANCE COOYSEVOX BUSTS: I will cable to you brother's firm around July 6th., should I not have heard from them in this connection by then.
