Dear Mr. Seligman:

EHRMANN: Today's mail brought an excerpt from March 1949 Bulletin de la Societe de L'Histoire de l'Art Francais by Mr. Jean Erhrmann (on Caron). I have not acknowledge receipt of it yet, as I do not know whether you would want me to (there is no note enclosed) and also you may see his while in Paris. In any case I am holding it for your return.

MONTREAL: The following is copy of a letter dated June 13, from R.T. Davis: Dear Germain: The President and Council of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts join me in expressing our gratitude to you for your generosity in lending us your Carmontelle drawing for our recent exhibition of 18th. century art of France and England. Due to the magnificent cooperation that we had from many lenders, it was possible to create temporarily in the Museum an atmosphere which expressed something of the feeling and quality of the 18th century. I am pleased to report that the exhibition was a great success and I am sure has made a deep impression of the public here in Montreal. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity and I trust that the drawing you lent us will be returned to you in perfect condition and that the frame suffered no damage. We are enclosing a form of receipt which we ask you to sign and return to us. V.S.T. signed "Bob".
