Mr. Lichti:
Jacque Seligmann & Co.,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Lichti:

I am sending you herein a copy of my letter to the Marlborough Gallery in London where I purchased a Cezanne Watercolor for the sum fo [pound sign] 500 delivered New York. There may be an extra charge for the negative which, at my request, they turned over to me.

Herein also included their invoice dated June 2nd and, when you have received it, will you please send them a check in full payment.
I assume you will have to ask Mr. M.C. Robins for the extra funds. Now, and this is important, will you please compare the Watercolour with the one reproduced in the Venturi publication "Cezanne", Vol. 2, plate 893 representing a couple enjoying a meal.

[handwritten] before making a payment.

With best regards,

Sincerely yours,

[handwritten] GS

Germain Seligman.
