Re: Griselda Frescoes: Dear Mr. Seligman: From Mr. Franceschelli of Milan, Italy I obtained the enclosed information which I am passing on to you without any responsibility. Mr. Franceschelli is very surprised about the information concerning Pelosi and he wonders whether he is the same person to whom the lady sold the frescoes. Para. I expect to be in Turin towards the end of this month or the beginning of July, and I shall try to contact Mr. Pelosi if you so desire. Please advise me. S.Y.

Confidential Information. Carla Politi nee Nanni - From inquiries at Via Vivaio 27, it appears that Mrs. Nanni vacated the apartment on December 14th., 1949 without leaving a forwarding address. It appears from other sources [[crossed-out]] of income [[/crossed-out]] that the lady always lived freely and expensively, her sources of income being not clear. This was confirmed by her former maid Rosa Corru nee Causi living in Via Orti 14. Mrs. Politi's mother in law lives at Corso 22 Marzo, 37, and she used that address for several years. Para. At present Mrs. Politi is in Lima, Peru, where she was born, at the Hotel Bolivar. It is believed that she went there on business. It appears that Mrs. Politi has a five room apartment in Rome, Viale Regina Margherita 270 (not 207) which she sublet with the right to reoccupy it on her return.

Ernesto Pelosi, son of the late Luigi, born at Campagnatico (Grosseto) on July 15 1882, residing in Turin, Via Amerigo Vespucci No. 9. He resided for about two years at Via Urbano Rattazzi 11, and since 1943 he moved to the above address where he lived in a rented apartment with one Erminia Rosso, daughter of Giuseppe. At Via Urbano Rattazzi 11, he lived in a boarding house. He had no established profession or business. He engaged in all kinds of trades without great success. It is believed that he has an exceedingly limited capital which is just sufficient to satisfy his daily needs. He does not own any personal or real property. A few days ago he was moved to the Mauritian Hospital for a serious [[crossed-out]] surigi [[/crossed-out]] surgical operation. One of his eyes will be removed and it is possible that he will remain entirely blind.
