Dear Mr. Lee:

As you probably know Mr. Seligman will be in Europe for a few weeks longer so I have opened your letter of the 13th.

He will no doubt be disappointed that you found it necessary to return the photographs of items he showed you here, but on the other hand will be pleased that you hope ultimately to acquire the Pierino da Vinci.

Perhaps I should tell you that meanwhile another museum is seriously considering this sculpture.

Your letter will be held for Mr. Seligman who will undoubtedly write you immediately upon his return.

Yours very sincerely,

Sherman E. Lee, Eaq.
