My dear Dr. Valentiner:

Mr. Germain Seligman is absent from town for a week or so, and he has left word that his mail is to remain unopened until his return, about the twenty-third of December. I am, therefore, sending you this note today to let you know that your envelope has been received by us.

Upon Mr. Seligman's return I am sure he will immediately write to you; also, I know, he is looking forward to your visit to New York.

Yours very sincerely,
