[] G.S. Trip Dec. 54 []

December 18th., 1954

Dear Germain:

We are not planning to write you after today - hereafter cables only.

The Ecclesiastical Art show was abandoned because we are buried, surrounded, haunted etc. by 5000 envelopes which will be joined by 5000 cards shortly. Too undignified for such companions.

I cabled about the boiserie giving dimensions. They have a donor, but will only buy the finest, most elegant, etc... A Mr. McLanathan came in; very friendly etc.. If I understood correctly in addition to Decorative arts he is acting as quasi-director and is actually also secretary of the Museum.

Mr. de Vries writes he will come to see me and later, in February, will be back to see you, I remember all the instructions.

Also Miss Freedberg of the Boston Museum writes that Mr. Rossiter will come to see the two St. Mansuetus drawings next week.

Mr. Arthur Goldschmidt was in. Staying at the Madison, and will see you after Christmas.
