Dear Germain:

Sorry, I left Messrs. Rich and Barr by themselves, before the Trinity as the silence made me feel unwelcome and I had given the X-Ray and brochure, Thus I cannot express Barr's reaction.

I felt it was even good psychology to do that, as to me it showed such confidence that even aspect of the painting could speak affirmatively for itself. Furthermore Rich had already seen it three times so knew everything I could have said.

Mr. McNabb, University of Miami, Fla (who came in last summer about borrowing Redons next Spring) is to have a Kress gift "in a year or so". He said Mr. Emerson had told him of a Spanish-esque portrait he had seen here recently. I showed the [[crossed out]] head [[/crossed out]] Leah.

Then he, in the greatest vagueness, mumbled something about David, so Jack produced the La Neuville. You had said not to show the David - remember? Anyway he doesn't seen to have much idea what he is to see, though his project is supposed to be [[crossed out]] the [[/crossed out]] Spanish art. He is returning on Wednesday the 15th and I have cabled my problem to you.

Mr. J.J. Hill phoned Saturday when I was out; said he would call back ... but up to the moment there has been no further word.

Mr. Ritchie just brought (?) in Mr. & Mrs. Cunningham of Hartford as he wanted them to see the Delacroix W.C "Arab Musicians". I told them the facts about it but did not suggest showing them anything and they left amid a barrage on the regrets you would have to have missed them all.

Then Dr. Nathan of Zurich came. He also asked for your wife, who happened to be here then; they had a few words together.

Am enclosing copies of two letters with Mr. Porjes suggested solutions to one.

Spoke to Jack about lowering the big reflector in the picture room.

The Zervos photographs have been mailed this morning with the stamps and indications on the backs.

Good luck...& get some rest
