Dear Mr. Label:

Following our conversations and per your letter to me of May 31st, you will find herein check on J. P. Morgan & Co., New York, #1126 of June 3rd, in the amount of $11,400.00 (eleven thousand four hundred dollars), made out to the order of Mrs. M. Waldberg, in payment in full for the painting by Ingres, "Portrait of Dr. De France", purchased by my firm through you. 

You will also find herein check #1127 on J. P. Morgan & Co., New York, dated June 3rd, made out to your order in the amount of $600.00 (six hundred dollars), representing payment in full of your commission on this purchase. 

It is well understood that, as you stated, this painting will be delivered to Messrs. Veron, Grauer & Co., Geneva, shippers, for my firm's account and that yo will not turn over the herein enclosed check made out to Mrs. M. Waldberg until and unless you will have been able to ascertain yourself in Geneva that this painting has been turned over in perfect condition to the above indicated shippers. In view of this, I am enclosing herein a letter addressed to Messrs. Veron, Grauer & Co., Geneva, which you would oblige me by delivering to them upon receipt of the above assurances.
