Dear John:

Your good lines of August 6th just reached me and I was happy to read that you had such a lovely motor trip through Canada. We are just about to leave St. Moritz and expect to be in Paris, Ritz, late on August 20th, having all sorts
of appointments in the meantime.

From Hans v. Matsch not a word.....? I really can't do any more - unless you wish to send him a note expressing our amazement.

As for the Marchesa Patrizi, for something which is worth very little today.... $50,000 is a h.... of a price to ask, so that I will do nothing further in this connection. Ethlyne to whom I mentioned the subject tells me that the K. C. museum paid $25,000 for theirs in the heydays.

As for the Rotier matter, I shall try to obtain Mel Robbins' opinion.

Believe it or not, I shall be happy to get back, as I really have had enough of these trips and hotels for the time being.

With kindest thoughts from us both,

Sincerely,

P.S. from the sec'y - We had a fresh powdering of snow on the mountain tops this morning - hoping you are the same!
