Dear Mr. Porjes -

Mr. Seligman and I were both happy to have your letter yesterday and to know that you and your family are all right - you must indeed have spent some anxious hours before you got word from the little girls. The papers here, of course, were full of flood news and we have been axious to hear from all friends in the vicinity - got through to Mrs. Parker finally by telephone, but undoubtedly you know all the news from her and that she is all right. I'm glad that the little girls had nothing worse than a wet day and were not frightened by it all.

We shall be leaving here within the next day or so - with much regret - and expect to be at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Los Angeles, on Wednesday and leave there on Thursday, Sept. 1st for Seattle - am enclosing itinerary for your information. As you see, we will be back in New York on Labor Day, which is a little earlier than originally expected, so would you be good enough to call the apartment and speak to Queenie - she is supposed to start putting it in order on Monday, the 29th, and then forward to her the enclosed note? This seems to be my year to leave things behind and one of them was my address book with her home address in it - she is in the telephone book - Queenie Horne on West 117th Street (I believe).

Mr. Seligman also asks me to tell you that he has drawn $500.00 on Bankers Trust Special Account (Check #188) to the order of our joint account - I am mailing it today for deposit.

With many thanks and best regards from us both

Sincerely

Ethlyne Seligman

P.S. There are two check enclosed in Queenie's letter - one dated today for her to use for buying groceries and one for her first week's salary, dated Sept. 2, as I realize she will have worked a week (I hope) before we get there.
