Dear Mr. Seligman:

To my greatest surprise Mrs. Seligman left yesterday on the "SS America" for Europe. I gave her $130.- in Travellers check in her name along, which I had in the safe.

I am enclosing copies of letters* to McKay Morant in connection with a breakage reported by the Museum in Kansas City as per the enclosed photostat. Jack packed same the usual way. He sent it to Houston last year and nothing happend. I myself saw it before it went. Jack had put signs inside the case saying: "Before unpaking statue remove pads from top and sides first" and he is of the opinion they did not follow his instructions. I don't know whether you want to file a claim, but anyway I reported the case and am waiting for your reaction. For the old break we might not get anything and we don't know how much the new one will effect the depreciation and how much the repair will be. Mrs. Parker expects a letter from Mr. Kelleher.- The other letter is self-explanatory.
