Dear Mr. Seligman:

I just received the following cable from McKay Morant:

"PAINTING VERMEER HELD COVERED FOR DOLLARS THREEHUNDREDTWENTYFIVE THOUSAND PENDING FURTHER ADVICES
                               MORANT"

I am enclosing copy of my letter to McKay as regards the breakage insurance for the Rosset Statue, which left today by AirExpress.

You also will find copy of their letter re. the Vuillard Painting to which I have to say that in case same is being returned, I should [[strikethrough]] have [[/strikethrough]] be notified in order to advise McKay accordingly. I hope this is not being the case during August.

From the copy of the translation of the letter from Madrid [[strikethrough]] you [[/strikethrough]]of which I sent copy to Mr. Dattelbaum you will note that you are entitled to some dividends. How much I could not understand from the letter. But anyway I told Mr. Dattelbaum not to do anything before I hear from you. I don't think it is necessary this time to ship the securities itself - just the coupons referred to.

[[left margin]] Ask mr. Dattelbaum if sums cannot just be credited to my account with the bank of X....?-[[/left margin]]

Mrs. Seligman informed me that she is cancelling the reservation with Air France after receiving your cable. It became still harder since the Cunard Star is being or going on strike.-
