MR. FRANCIS sent the following note:
"you and your "Sherlock Holmes" are very kind to have labored so well in my behalf, and I am duly grateful to you both, indeed.
I regret "Spur" melted the plates of the Tiepolo, yet am not surprised as that appears to be the fate of many such.
Thank you, nonetheless, for your efforts.
                                          Ever sincerely (signed)

If on your side there is no objection, we want to buy the Huy MS. sent to us. As usual I can't ask you to send me the three bills with the formula because we must wait for the official agreement for using our money in that way.
                 Sincerely yours, (signed L.M.J. Delaisse)"

"Dear Mr. Walker
As Mrs. Jean Lipman of Art In American has told me that you are writing an article for their Fall issue on religious art of earlier centuries, I felt you might like to have th4e enclosed photograph of a Vannuccio Crucifix called to your attention.
It was purchased from us a few months ago by Bob Jones University Museum, Greenville, South Carolina.
Should you find it interesting for your these I feel certain Dr. Bob Jones, Jr., who had created his University's new museum, would gladly authorize reproduction.
