MRS. FREEDBERG writes BOSTON MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, BOSTON 15, MASSACHUSETTS

"Dear Mr. Seligman: Department of Prints
At long last I am writing for your formal permission to reproduce your beautiful Callot drawing of St. Mansuetus. Finally it has been decided that the article will appear in our autumn bulletin so I am hard at work on the polishing of the final draft.
I am assuming that you are in Europe and that this will be forwarded to you. I hope you will be able to drop an air note with this little piece of red tape in the affirmative.
How I envy you but still so far it is very pleasant here and we are nicely settled in the country near the sea.
I am very much looking forward to seeing you in the fall either in Boston or New York.
   With best regards,
                      Sincerely yours
                      (signed) Anne Blake Freedberg."

As she assumes you are away but as you may have certain reccommendations regarding the reproduction it seems necessary the answer should come from you alone.

MRS. BUHLER writes:
   "Dear Mr. Seligmann:
Undoubtedly you saw the notice of the death on June 14th of Dr. Georg Swarzenski, whose devotion to this museum was of inestimable help in the development of our Medieval and Renaissance Collections.
As one who worked for and with him through the two decades when he was also endearing himself to all the staff, I wished we might have a fund for a purchase (or more) to keep his name in the galleries which his knowledge and interest made so noteworthy.
It occurred to me that there are probably many who would like to contribute to such a fund, and it has been started among his associates Here. It will be known as the Georg Swarzenski Fund, or Georg Swarzenski Collection; if you care to add to it, we would be interested to learn your preference in name.

Contributions will be acknowledged from this office, since our Director is about to go to Europe; and checks (to be tax deductible) should be made out to the Museum of Fine Arts.
                                Sincerely,
                                (signed) Kathryn C. Buhler
                                (Mrs. Yves Henry Buhler)
                                 Assistant Curator "
