HENRY S. FRANCIS The enclosed is a copy of the letter from him and our answer covering it.

MAGGS wrote "Thank you very much for your letter of May 29th. I was indeed relieved to get your most friendly and helpful cable to hold the manuscript another week.
This morning I have had a wire from the Bibliotheque Royale de Belgique saying that they are buying the manuscript, so all appears to be well. I now await their letter which they say is following. Yours sincerely, (signed) H. Clifford Maggs"

No answer seems necessary so we shall just wait for the next development.

HOLBEIN The ultra-violets of various intensities are attached.

LURCY AUCTION Parke-Bernet has inquired for additional information on the set of four Begence fauteuils, a pair of Louis XVI bronze dore candelabra, and a pair of Vincennes porcelain cachepots, so we have given them by telephone the collections etc. which were mentioned on the original invoices.

DR. KLING tells me he saw you in Paris. He dictated the note, of which a copy is enclosed, to Mrs. Mellon. I did not alter one word as he knows what he is doing.

FRIEDLANDER We got the check off for the book being presented to Dr. Friedlander, copy of our letter is enclosed.

MR. SELZ This gentleman (PL 8-0368) phoned to inquire whether we had any Legers. I told him of our one gouache and mentioned the $700 (seven hundred dollars) price.

RENE BOUX of the Cloisters phoned for a print of the Retascon Master painting belonging to Kansas City evidently for a show they are organizing. Miss Morrison is ordering a print.

NEW PURCHASE Your Registered letter came and as Mr. Porjes will write you we are expecting delivery of the new painting on Monday. I am so glad we are going to have it.

BOB JONES I have presented him with a copy of the d'Arenberg Manuscript Catalogue as he seemed so interested in it, and is still a potential customer.

COPYING RIBBONS The salesman from Remington made a special visit to tell us that they have discontinued making copying ribbons. I believe they had only sold one dozen in a year. I called Mr. Robbins who says there is no legal advantage, in this country anyway, to the copy book system.
