Mr. Germain Seligman,
c/o Messrs. Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc.,
5, East 57th Street,
New York 22,
U.S.A.

Dear Mr. Seligman,

I have delayed writing to you following my brief meeting with you at Claridges Hotel as I was uncertain how long you would be staying in London.

In order to eliminate these causes it is my suggestion that you and your office direct all future correspondence to me personally and I in turn will see that appropriate action is taken and prompt replies given.

Should I be absent from my office for any reason your correspondence will be attended to by one of my deputies, Mr. J. T. Webb on whom I have impressed the necessity for prompt and efficient handling.

From our conversation I understand that one of the reasons for concern was the fact that your office, after giving immediate notification on a declaration under the marine open policy, was kept waiting for a reply or acknowledgement with the resultant concern as to whether (a) the declaration had been received by us and (b) whether the declaration was in fact insured.
