Dear Professor Sloane:

Do have my thanks for your nice note of November 10.

Could we agree that you will not keep the paintings over two weeks? In order to compensate for limiting you thus I will send you the VOUET - "Men in Armour" - the STELLA - "The Child Jesus in the Temple" and the ISABEY - "Moors Assaulting a Church" as well as the two LAFITTE drawings.

The exhibition closing tomorrow and the second LAFITTE still being available you will therefore have the choice between the two. Thus, do not be surprised at the size of the shipment when it reaches your Museum........!

We may be successful in having them packed and shipped on Tuesday, 16th, but if not certainly on the 17th, by air express. As usual, the paintings and drawings will remain insured by my Firm while in your Museum's custody and in transit both ways.

With warm regards,

Sincerely,

Germain Seligman

I am unsure what was said in the dark section starting "The exhibition". I left double brackets open for anyone who can read this. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-03-01 15:44:18 I think Seligman was trying to cover up a typo in the dark section, but I am also unsure of what it says. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-03-02 22:55:48 ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-03-03 12:49:06 ---------- Reopened for Editing 2024-03-05 22:12:16.
