Hotel Ritz, Paris

June 20, 1966

Dear Mr. Porjes:

May I trouble you with two bits of personal business for us?

1 - We have ordered from Georges Lemanach & Cie, Paris, some yardage of velvet and of silk upholstery material, which is being sent by air, addressed to the gallery, care of Bemo. there will, of course be duty to pay on it, I understand in the neighborhood of 18 or 20%, if you would be good enough to tell Bemo to take care of it. The material, of course, is to be sent to the apartment.

2 - On account of the British ship strike, we are unable to get the trunk home, except either too late or too early - thus it will arrive in New York on the 28th by the [[strikethrough]] FRANCE [[/strikethrough]] Oops - sorry - it will be arriving on the 28th via the U.S. Lines - the UNITED STATES. The Ritz will mail the necessary papers to you at JS& Co, with charges forward - it cost $54.50 to get over here, so I presume the return will be about the same. The key for the customs should be with the papers, but just in case there is a slip up, am enclosing my key herein.

I suggest that you ask Sheraton to pick it up after you have cleared it and hold it until late on the afternoon of the 30th and then deliver it to the apartment, as there are papers in it that Mr. Seligman will want to bring to the office the next day. It would be well to telephone the [[strikethrough]] French [[/strikethrough]] line to see just when it can be cleared - but I am sure you know all that.

Again, apologies for adding personal affairs to business ones, and with many thanks

Sincerely yours
Ethlyne J. Seligman
Mrs. Germain Seligman

For the Customs - there are only PERSONAL EFFECTS taken from the U.S. plus a few books and catalogues acquired here.
