Dear Herbert:

It was pleasant indeed to receive your cable announcing the purchase of the Lefevre portrait at so favorable a figure, and I immediately cabled you accordingly.

Herewith I am thus sending you a check in the amount of $3,230.00 which includes a 10% commission as well as the settlement of the Lefevre painting and the Guido Reni drawing.

As I requested in my cable, I assume you have sent the bills and the details we discussed over the telephone regarding shipment, i.e., delivery New York on September 10th, directly to Mr. O. Porjes my manager in New York.

I am glad we were able to do this business before you took off for your vacation and with kindest thoughts to Liselotte and to you, in which Ethlyne joins me,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
