Dear T -

Your letter of May 28th has just reached me (the 30th), in record time although we suffered a mail strike until this morning. This leads me to hope that Porjes' letter with the receipt for the trunk has been duly mailed and its delivery held back on account of this strike, for I should add that your letter is the first and only one received so far.

I am writing to Dr. Schlegel, mailing the pamphlet which I am glad you forwarded - was also glad to have the copies of my previous correspondence, thus refreshing my memory.

May I inquire whether you showed her the other bronzes, the St. John in particular and also the marble Christ Child by Marini? A word about the physical aspect of Dr. Schlegel re her age and whether she was agreeable would please me.

By the way, looking at the photograph, I realize, a little late, how very bad it is, for the most interesting part, the crouching slaves, is hardly visible. In other words, the inkstand should be photographed from another angle.
