States, that S.C. Armstrong, S. A. Comr., writes relative to the Bounty claim of Joseph Jones, Priv. Co. L. 1st U.S.C.C.

Also, that he is informed by Bvt. Maj. Genl. A. P. Howe, in an endorsement of Jan'y 17th, that the claim of Joseph Jones is allowed and certificate in his favor, sent to the C.D.O. of this Bureau, Oct. 5th, 1867.

Respectfully returned with the information that the money, and vouchers to pay Joseph Jones Co. L. 1st Cavalry were sent to S. C. Armstrong agent at Fort Munroe Dec 7th 1867, and were received back properly signed and witnessed Dec 23rd 1867. Are any records kept in that District?
